Maserati 3200

Postby phildini » Sat Sep 13, 2014 10:18 am

Been looking at these Italian beauties for years, I think now is the time to take the plunge. Anybody out there who has had any personal experience with one, or know anything about these cars. Any help I would appreciate it. I know the 4200 is a better car, but I really want the 3200.

Nope. But I assume you've read this:

Evo did a buying guide also some time back. If I can find it I'll scan it and send it over. Boomerang rear lamps are much better than those great big burgers they stuck on the back later on.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Got to say that if anyone buys a car on the strength of the rear light shape then you're probably headed for a world of financial pain :-) Was talking to SB Race the other day about these and they were none too complimentary sighting the suspension design as pretty poor and even in good condition was never going to work well. I can see the attraction but that's mostly born out of perceived purchase value but if maintained properly then it will be just as costly as more expensive machinery but no retained value. Only started to get better with the Gransport which I think start around £22k but not looked lately.

Filipo...get one....
I have often looked at the ads for these...
the engine note is awesome... and they are v quick...can get small people in back and the boot usable..
Yes..you may get some bills that will make you wince..bit of a gamble....really not quite as "agricultural" as GTA mechanicals..
There are a few things that can go wrong as the buyers guides will suggest...and most folk seem to stress the importance of service history....
A mate at work uses one as his "station car"...and has had it for several years...without too much drama
Think there are a few independents round these parts and down the A3 a bit..though none are cheap....given most are ferrari techs too.

This link has some good insights...

Thanks guys!! Yes the Boomerang lights is what does it for me!! it's got enough power, just need to be patient and find the right car. I want a manual, colour not bothered, even though I do fancy the Luci di Mezzanotte Met.
Dave we can buy it on a Consortium if you want :up :wave
